I started training at Rogue a little over a year ago. I was going through a difficult time in my life and needed to try something new. I hadn’t worked out in a long time so I was nervous about being in shape and about knowing what to do during the workouts. The trainers and athletes were absolutely amazing (in and out of the gym). They were all patient with me when trying something new and pushed me to do my best. Everyone is very supportive and motivating about everything… from completing a tough workout, finishing a master’s class, to mowing the lawn. The people at Rogue would probably cheer you out of bed every morning if you needed it.
Since training with Brandon and Graham I have lost around 30 pounds, dropped 4 pant/dress sizes, found a new passion for working out, started eating healthier, and have found an incredible support system of friends! I personally couldn’t have joined Rogue at a more perfect time. It helped me turn a difficult time into a fabulous new life style! I feel great and know I can always get better. Rogue challenges me physically and mentally to be the best me I can be.

After deciding I should try and get in better shape I listened to my friend who always said “Come do Crossfit with me”. I went into the gym the first day without ever having picked up a kettle bell or barbell. When I finished my first week people were saying that kid is not going to make it. Thanks to the awesome coaching of Brandon and Graham I not only made it I got much better. Doing Crossfit for over a year has made me immeasurably stronger. Within the first months I was doubling my lifts from the coaching and learning of proper technique. I highly recommend starting Crossfit for anyone who wants to get into better shape. It is addicting getting better and stronger everyday and the camaraderie amongst the gym just makes you push that much harder. Without the hard work of Brandon, Graham and Crossfit I would not be in the shape I am today.

I started training at rogue after I had my second child. Since, I have competed on the Rogue Affiliate team at the Crossfit Regional 2010, qualifying for the 2011 Crossfit Games with the Rogue affiliate team, and gaining a family for life. Brandon and Graham have given me the inspiration and drive to not only work hard for my self but for everyone in the gym as well. I am proud to call Rogue my crossfit gym, and am grateful for how it has enriched my life and improved my overall well being.

When I started at Rogue, I was less than three months from my 36th birthday and the heaviest that I had ever been in my life at 239 pounds. I knew I needed to do something, but I didn’t know what. I had lost weight with Weight Watchers and gained it back. I had joined the Y and stopped going. I needed something different. I started seeing pictures on a friend’s Facebook page. She was jumping on boxes, lifting weights and running. She was also losing inches. I was curious. I asked her about what she was doing and she told me all about CrossFit. As I learned more and more from her I realized that this was what I was looking for. I started looking online for a place to start and I found Rogue.
I sent them an email asking if they could fit me into one of their upcoming Elements classes, and I made a decision to change my life. I was terrified going into my first Elements class and I was beginning to wonder if I could actually do this. Brandon did a great job explaining what CrossFit was and how it worked at Rogue. He explained how the movements, ranges of motion, and weights could be scaled so that anyone could do them. He assessed what I was capable of and explained the basic movements like the kettle bell swing, squats, push ups, and pull ups. He was enthusiastic, but patient, making sure that I did things the right way. After my first class, I was exhausted and sore, but I came back and kept coming back.
Since my first day 5 months ago, I have noticed big changes in my body. I have lost over 30 pounds and I am well on my way to my goal weight. I have lost inches off my waist, my face looks thinner, and my clothes fit better. I also feel better in general. I am getting a lot stronger and building muscle. I am running faster and lifting more than I ever thought I could. Now when I leave the workouts, I am energized instead of exhausted. There is no way that I could have made the same progress on my own. Brandon and Graham have been there every step of the way pushing me beyond what I thought I was capable of. But it is not just the trainers that push and support you. All of the other athletes have been so supportive and helpful, encouraging me to get that extra rep or try the same lift with another 5 pounds. I really feel a sense of community with the other athletes. We all work hard and we work together. I have made a lot of new friends since joining Rogue.
